چکیده

Natamycin, an antifungal agent that has been approved in the management of exteriorfungal infectionsof oculus such asfungal keratitis,blepharitis, and conjunctivitis. The ophthalmic preparation needs frequent installation into eye due to quickprecorneldrugloss which may lead poor bioavailability. present investigation aimed at formulation development characterization situophthalmic gel natamycin by using a blend polymer sodium alginate, ethylcellulose, Xanthan gum for better residence time improvethe bioavailability drug. six different formulations (F1 F6) situgel were prepared. All evaluated clarity, visual appearance, pH, gelling capacity, drug content, release, release kinetic, ocular irritancy, vitro stability. results found have complied with pharmacopoeial specification. vitrodrug releases F3 established maximum 8 h as compared other sustained manner.Further, was be stable, safe innocuous. studies suggested prepared will valuable alternative conventional drops counter precorneal loss.
